The Lone Ranger has had its growing pains throughout its development process. But since production commenced on the Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer epic adventure in February, it's been us just waiting for details on the movie. We get that today, as the first trailer was debuted on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. It's got a little bit of Armie Hammer as the masked vigilante. It's got a little of Depp as Tonto. And it's got a whole lot of trains. I mean tons of them. Sheldon from Big Bang Theory must be having a field day with this trailer. You'll see what I mean…
The Lone Ranger is written by Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio of the Pirates of the Caribbean. Director Gore Verbinski, whose work include Rango (with Johnny Depp), The Ring, The Mexican, Mouse Hunt, as well as helming the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Needless to say, with Verbinski, Bruckheimer and Disney, The Lone Ranger is in good hands. Hard to imagine it won't be a summer blockbuster.
The Lone Ranger will hit theaters on July 3, 2012.
