The new Batman: Arkham Origins screenshots are looking pretty damn dark

I’ll be honest; I thought these screenshots for Batman: Arkham Origins were detailed concept art at first. These things look good, damn good. The art style appears more graphic novel-like and less cartoony in nature. For a Batman game, this sort of gritty darkness is absolutely welcomed. The shot of Batman standing in the fire could be a movie poster; it’s so awesome.

You’re going to want to check these bad boys out in the gallery to the right. Batman: Arkham Origins is currently being developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal which could explain the shift in tone. It is set to release on October 25, 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC. There's been no mention of next-gen consoles as of yet.
