The original ‘Power Rangers’ cast likely won’t be a part of the new movie

No cameos? Nods? References?

It was recently revealed that the original cast of 'Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers' may not be a part of the new reboot.

Since the initial announcement that Lionsgate would begin working on a reboot movie for one of the most beloved children's series of all time, 'Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers', fans who grew up with the show have not only hoped, but outright assumed that at least some of the original cast would have some possibly small involvement in the movie. As it turns out, those hopes may be officially dashed.

In a recent interview for the Audibly Exquisite podcast, Walter Jones (aka Zack the Black Ranger), was asked about the possibility of seeing some familiar faces in the upcoming reboot. According to Jones:

"It’s not likely. Unfortunately, we were not invited to be part of the film, which is confusing to me, but I’m excited about the film nevertheless."

It seems that no one has been contacted by the studio to return to the franchise in any capacity. The decision does seem strange considering the whole purpose of the movie is to pluck that 90's nostalgia cord, and what better way to do that than to remind us millenials of the days that once were in the Ranger-verse.
