The quest for Destiny’s ‘No Time To Explain’ exotic pulse rifle has begun

Through a series of cryptic tweets, Bungie has confirmed that the quest to obtain Destiny's exotic weapon, No Time to Explain, has arrived. As was the case with the Sleeper Simulant, and many other exotic weapons in The Taken King, you can obtain this Exotic Pulse Rifle by completing a series of quests starting in today's Daily Heroic, "Paradox."

You may recall a while back, Guardians discovered the location of three Praedyth Ghost memories. Once collected, a previously inactive portal opens up. After performing a series of preceision jumps to reach the portal, you can find a secret area containing a giant Vex boss that, when defeated, will unlock a chest containing the "Cult Ghost." This starts the quest chain to obtain No Time To Explain.

Once you take the Cult Ghost to Future War Cult's Lakshmi-2, you'll unlock the quest "Not Forged in Light." From there you'll perform a series of other tasks, one of which involves you revisiting the Vault of Glass raid. Not many have made it past this step yet, but the ones who have confirmed the last step is completing the 290 light level mission, "Blood of the Garden," on Mars.  Apparently this last step is incredibly difficult, so good luck.

Should you happen to complete it, you'll be rewarded with the No Time to Explain Exotic Pulse Rifle, which comes with 290 attack and a perk, "Rewind Again," which returns precition hits immediately to the magazine.

Today's quest is just another example of Bungie's goal in year two to limit the randomness of acquiring certain Exotics. Like Sleeper Simulant and Black Spindle, the requirements to start these quests are usually a mystery (which are time-gated); but, once you discover them you are guaranteed the exotic once you complete the quest line.

Assuming No Time to Explain follows the same pattern as the previous Exotic Weapons, the three mysterious Ghost memories are only available while Paradox is a Daily Heroic, and there's a chance the "Not Forged in Light" quest could disappear (and later return) like "The First Firewall" quest that starts the Sleeper Simulant chain.

I know it all sounds confusing right now, but I think I prefer this method of obtaining exotics rather than relying on the cruel RNG of Destiny.
