The secret behind Bloodborne’s Yharnam Stone revealed

For those that have been diligently braving the depths of the Chalice Dungeons in FromSoft's Bloodborne on PlayStation 4, they might have come across a peculiar item, once they defeated a certain boss in the game.

The item in question is the Yharnam Stone, which, judging by its name, should hold some significance.

Now, we're going to go a bit into spoiler territory, so if you're still braving the Chalice Dungeons, turn away now. Unless of course you bathe in spoilers, then continue on.

The Yharnam Stone drops after defeating Yharnam, the Pthumerian Queen in one of the lowest sections of the Chalice Dungeons. An older Wiki entry mentioned that the Yharnam Stone will supposedly allow players to purchase any of the Chalice Dungeon Ritual items, from the game's item shop in the Hunter's Dream.

However, that theory was debunked quick, since we managed to beat the Queen, and didn't get those results.

Being big fans of EpicNameBro's channel on YouTube, we decided to buy the Bloodborne guide he helped worked on, not only to support his great work, but because the guide would be filled with lore facts that would hopefully help us piece the story together.

Upon arrival, I quickly checked the Yharnam Stone page, only to be pleasantly surprised by the answer. Here is the entry:

If you're having trouble reading it, the description states:

A Trophy item obtained after defeating Queen Yharnam at the bottom of the Pthumerian Ihyll, the Yharnam Stone serves no purpose other than as a testament to your victory.

So there you have it. You could quickly make a parallel to Dark Souls' pendant, except that was a starting item, which in my eyes is much more of a troll move than this being one of the final items you get in the game. Regardless, it's pretty great that players were trying to figure out what this item does for nearly a month now, only to have Miyazaki smirking in the background.
