The Sims 4 celebrates Halloween with free update adding Ghosts, Star Wars costumes

The Sims 4 — just a month after launch — is already receiving its first batch of free content. It comes in the form of a spooky update celebrating Halloween with the addition of Ghosts and a new Star Wars Costume Set, among other things.

Your dead Sims can now rejoin the world of the living, where they maintain all the attributes they had a as a Sim, but with special new behaviors based on how they died. Invite them to join your Sims’ household and they can be playable characters; if you dare, you might even find a way to bring your ghosts back to life.

In addition to ghosts, you can now outfit your Sims in Star Wars costumes. Available right now in your wardrobe is Luke Skywalker's X-wing pilot suit, Princess Leia's white robes and cinnamon buns hairstyle (what, no slave Leia outfit!?) Darth Vader's terrifying suit, and Yoda.

Community requests like new eye colors are also included, as are fixes for a few minor bugs.

But wait, there is more. EA also announced today plans for two more major updates, one in November and another in December. Though they divulge too much information they did say that November's update will add pools back into the game, while December's update will introduce new Career paths and rewards.

"We’ve designed The Sims 4 to be a live service, so we can continually evolve the experience, add new content, and incorporate as much of your feedback as possible," said executive producer Rachel Frankling. The spooky October Halloween update is now available in The Sims 4, while more details about these other two updates be shared in the coming months.
