The Stomping Land developer is back with updates; still not available on Steam

In the beginning of September The Stomping Land was removed from Steam Early Access after months of silence from the developer.

The Stomping Land, a multiplayer survival game set in the time of dinosaurs, was a Kickstarter success. It gathered $114K after requesting only $20K from backers. Everything was on schedule after they hit their goal (and then some), The Stomping Land released on Steam Early Access – there were updates and everything and then silence. So, Steam pulled the game – wary of it being a trap.

Here we are, 20 days after The Stomping Land was made unavailable for purchase and the developer, SuperCrit, is back with some updates. The first update arrived on September 18th, the update rehashed their last update (from June 6th) – it covers the jump to Unreal Engine 4 (something they mentioned on June 6th – right before months of silence), members of the dev team that are still active (it seems the core members are still there – never changed – only contractors have come and gone).

The following update (on September 19th) detailed what we can expect to see updated in the game. The inventory system (along with crafting and collecting) will see some tweaks, items/resources that dinosaurs drop will be broadened, and the save system will see some 'revamping.'

While the developer has broken the radio silence, there is a question that remains…

The developer only reappered when Steam made their game unavailable for purchase after the lack of updates. The only way for the game to be available for purchase again is if the developer releases enough updates for Steam to recognize The Stomping Land as a viable game to be sold. Did the developer break silence only to get the game back on sale again?

The fear here is that the community is being strung along and that there will be no game after-all.
