The Walking Dead Season 2 details revealed: You’ll be playing as Clementine

As expected, Telltale Games has released the first details regarding The Walking Dead: Season Two; the key reveal being that you will play as Clementine in the next chapter of Telltale's game series based off Robert Kirtkman's hit franchise.

Set "many months" after the events in Season One, Clementine is ***SPOILERS*** now left to her own devices to seek safety and survive a world overrun with zombies. "Now assuming the role of an ordinary child, players will struggle to outwit both the dead and the living in situations that will test their morals and control the flow of the story through their decisions and actions," Telltale said in a press release. Like Season One, your decisions and actions will change the story around you. It will also take into account the decisions you madein season one and in the 400 Days DLC.

"The terrifying nature of Robert Kirkman's world has allowed Telltale to push the boundaries of interactive drama in video games to a place that has had fans anxious to know what will happen next in this series," said Dan Connors, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "Today we can finally lift the veil, albeit only a little, on how this story will continue, and we'll soon be putting players in the shoes of a lead role that will challenge their expectations of how to survive in a world where no one can be trusted."

The Walking Dead's second season will total five episodes that will release through 2014. Fans already certain they plan on playing the entire season can go ahead and purchase the season pass which is now available for pre-order the PC/Mac version via Telltale Games' Online Store as well as Steam. If you pre-order either version now you can save 10%, meaning the entire season will cost you just $22.49.

The Walking Dead: Season Two will also be avaialble for home consoles and iOS, with "additional platforms to be announced." I'm assuming it will see a release on both current- and next-gen systems. No formal release date has been announced, but it is expected to arrive "later this year."
