As promised, AMC delivered the first trailer for The Walking Dead Season 6 and, as expected, it's completely nuts.
It looks like Season 6 will be picking up just after the intense cliffhanger from Season 5, with Rick Grimes trying to take control of Alexandria. But as you'll see in the trailer, not everyone is on board with Rick leading the group. It looks like Season 6 will build to a pretty intense showdown between the residents of Alexandria, with Rick on one side and the newly arrived Morgan on the other.
I'm not sure how that whole conflict will play out, but a good portion of the trailer shows Rick and his group on the outside of town. Is Rick's short stint as assumed leader of Alexandria already coming to an end in Season 6? If so, I pray for the residents of the town because they clearly need him, even though he is a bit mad it seems.
Of course, this is The Walking Dead and this is a teaser trailer, so it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the clips shown are intentonally misleading. Like, what if Morgan's "I know Rick, we can stop him" line is referring not to his reign as leader of Alexandria, but some sort of crazy mission.
The power struggle for Alexandria is only part of the Season 6 storyline. The entire end of the trailer is dedicated to The Wolves, a group of hostile survivors that were introduced last season. Not sure how that will unfold, but it looks like the narrative will heavily involve Daryl.
The Walking Dead Season 6 is set to debut on October 11 with a 90-minute premiere. Check out the trailer above and let us know your thoughts.
