Activision has finally released a gameplay trailer for The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, its upcoming first-person shooter based on AMC's rendition of Robert Kirkman's comic book series. Unlike the previously leaked footage, which Activsion deemed unofficial after it failed to impress both gamers and fans of the franchise, today's trailer is a more complete presentation.
It's important to note that the previously leaked footage was of an earlier version of the game and was nothing but b-roll footage intended for an interview. Today's trailer features a more up-to-date build of the game and is edited in a way that presents Survival Instinct in the best possible light. In other words, it's an official trailer designed to increase hype leading up to the game's March release.
The video sets the tone for the upcoming shooter, in which you play as the crossbow-wielding Daryl Dixon alongside his overbearing brother Merle as you make your way across the Georgia countryside to what you hope is a safer Atlanta. The game certainly looks more polished than when we first saw it, but I'd be hard-pressed to say it looks like ground-breaking. I'm still going to reserve my judgment until I go hands-on with the game, but has today's trailer changed your initial outlook or opinion of the The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct?
