Independent development studio The Code Monkeys has officially ceased operation after 23 years. The UK-based developer posted an entry on the company blog stating that the closure was the decision of the company’s directors and shareholders.
The decision to close down was made on February 1, the 23rd birthday of The Code Monkeys. Originally, the developer had made several layoffs in an attempt to stay in business, but ultimately, the decision was made to close entirely.
The Code Monkeys is responsible for games on the iPhone, DS, Wii, and PSP. Farewell to The Code Monkeys, and best of luck to the staff.
