Theatrhythm Final Fantasy shows off Chaos Shrine mode

Is it ridiculous that one of my most anticipated games of this year is a 3DS game that's based on the musical pieces of Final Fantasy games thus far? Well I'm not ashamed to admit it, and with every new screenshot I see, the excitement just builds up. This time we take a look at Chaos Shrine Mode.

For those unfamiliar with the concept of Theatrhythm, it's basically a celebration of all the music from past Final Fantasy entries. It's essentially a rhythm game that houses a fairly deep RPG system beneath it. You'll be defeating monsters, calling upon summons, leveling up characters, and watching your favorite FMV sequences from past FF titles, all while tapping to the beat.

If you appreciate all the glorious music from the Final Fantasy series, you'll not doubt have something to be excited about with Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.

About Chaos Shrine Mode:

Chaos Shrine is a game mode unlocked by gaining Rhythmia when clearing songs. In the Chaos Shrine, you can play mysterious music scores called Dark Notes, which are randomly generated combinations of field and battle songs. Players can share Dark Notes via the StreetPass feature or through Nintendo 3DS Local Play.

In the Chaos Shrine, players can unlock new characters, find rare items, and play new songs.
