These new Crysis 3 screenshots are absolutely stunning

We got our first look at Crysis 3 back in April with the release of a trailer, and while impressive, four newly discovered screenshots for EA's upcoming shooter have given us another look at the game's stunning visuals and magnificent lighting effects.

Uncovered by Evil Avatar, the screenshots appear signed by Crysis 3 lighting artist Pierre Yves Donzallaz, although they do not appear to be in his portfolio.

Back in April, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli told fans Crysis 3 will push the Xbox 360 and PS3 to its limits. If these screenshots are any indication, he's right.

EA and Crytek have already announced Crysis 3 for Xbox 360, PC, and PS3, will release in February 2013. In the game, players will assume the role of "Prophet" as he returns to New York only to find that the Cell Corporation has encased it in Nanodome. Seven distinct environments within the Liberty Dome become known as the Seven Wonders, and Prophet will need to use his composite bow, enhanced Nanosuit, and alien tech to survive.
