Developer Eidos Montreal considers the PC version of the upcoming Thief reboot "extremely important."
Producer Stephanie Roy told Strategy Informer, "Just playing Thief with a keyboard and mouse, it’s different, so we must make sure we support that well. For making the PC version, we think like a PC gamer; for consoles, it’s a different type of beast. It’s one of our goals to make sure that the PC version isn’t just a copy of the console version."
There's already a lot of pressure resting on the fourth Thief game, which is pegged as a "reinvention of a franchise that helped define an entire genre of games." It's coming to PC and next-generation consoles in 2014.
PC ports have been a sensitive topic before, with some developers refusing to enhance them.
