This gorgeous Super Famicom-themed 3DS is Japan-only

On the heels of the latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo of Japan revealed a stunning limited edition Nintendo 3DS done up in Super Famicom colors.

Complete with decal power, eject and reset buttons, the ironically skinned New Nintendo 3DS is a delightfully retro piece of hardware. Unfortunately for Western players, however, it has only been confirmed for a Japanese release at this time. Should it come stateside, expect it to retail for roughly $200, with a default memory card size of 4GB.

Thankfully, Western 3DS owners haven’t been totally left out. Nintendo today revealed that Super Nintendo titles are finally coming to the eShop, though they will be exclusive to New Nintendo 3DS systems. Super Mario Kart, Earthbound and Donkey Kong Country are already in the pipes, with more to come.

Thanks, Polygon.
