This is one way to teach video games in the classroom

Sony is recognizing the 10th anniversary of Ratchet & Clank in Japan with some weird promotional videos.

This one shows Ratchet teaching school children about the game. He even passes around one of his bigger guns — because that's a good message to send.

You'll want to watch until the 1:30 mark or so, as most of the video is gameplay footage, but skip to the end for a peek at the collection of Japanese game covers.

You can also watch a video of Ratchet trying to pick up a girl in a bar … only to realize he doesn't have money to pay for the drinks. Smooth, Ratchet … and a little creepy.

The Ratchet & Clank Collection releases on PlayStation 3 today.
