This is what GoldenEye 007 would have looked like on the Xbox 360

Back in 2015, Xbox head Phil Spencer revealed that Microsoft had been eyeing some Nintendo games and one of those games was GoldenEye. The reveal came after the Microsoft-owned Mojang game, Minecraft, finally came to the Wii U.

According to Spencer, Microsoft had given up trying to get GoldenEye on the Xbox 360 because it was simply too difficult. "GoldenEye rights are so challenging, looked at this many times," said Spencer. "Lot's of different parties to work with, we've always given up."

YouTube user Rare Thief, claims to have 30-minutes of gameplay from the unfinished GoldenEye remake for Xbox 360. It's unclear whether or not the gameplay is true gameplay or something cooked up in a basement somewhere. Whether or not the footage is legit almost doesn't matter, it's sad to see the game we could have had.

I want GoldenEye back.
