THQ Quarterly Earnings Call Reveals Several News Items

During a THQ quarterly earnings call today, the company revealed a moderately long list of interesting news items, which include several of their upcoming titles. The list, courtesy of GameInformer, can be seen below: 

 

  • The publisher says it has shipped 1.2 million copies of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine globally since its launch in September, beating expectations.
  • Things are looking good for Saints Row 3 at retail. The game has four times the amount of pre-orders during the same period before launch than Saints Row 2.
  • THQ plans to bring 1-2 new, high quality core games and 1-2 sequel titles to market each year.
  • UFC Undisputed 3 will ship on February 14, 2012.
  • Disney Animator is now coming to both uDraw on Wii and Wii U sometime next year.
  • One new core title will be unveiled next month.

THQ, despite a poor 2010, has been on an upswing this year, releasing several fantastic titles with their biggest to come, Saints Row: The Third. With an impressive lineup for 2012, THQ may finally be cementing itself as an elite developer in the industry, or at least a greator one. 

Gratuitous Tank Battles is the spiritual successor to Gratuitous Space Battles, the 'hands-off' battle simulation set in a universe at perpetual war. GTB is set in an alternate earth history where World War I never ends, and Axis fights Allies across Europe in the year 2114 complete with a mix of Tanks, Infantry and futuristic mechs.
