Titanfall hitting mobile platforms next year

After recently hitting the 10 million sales number, Titanfall will be looking to break more records when it goes mobile next year. In a collaboration with free to play games publisher Nexon, Respawn has announced they will be developing various Titanfall games geared specifically for mobile platforms.

Respawn CEO Vince Zampella stated that

"Our partnership with Nexon is momentous for many reasons. Nexon's unrivaled publishing network and free-to-play expertise will allow Titanfall to reach new global audiences. And with Particle City, we are closely collaborating to create all-new standalone games with original gameplay experiences that expand the Titanfall universe to players everywhere."

It's important to note that Particle City is Vince Zampella's studio that he founded earlier this year with Larry Pacey who has worked with a number of high profile studios in the past. Ceo and President of Nexon Owen Mahoney commented on the partnership by saying “Working closely with our partners at Respawn and Particle City we intend to build on the original game’s success and introduce millions of mobile gamers to the rich Titanfall universe".

Of course, with Titanfall 2 currently in development for Xbox One as well as PS4, it should be noted that these are obviously just not mobile ports of Titanfall. With no way of mobile platforms having the hardware specifications to support the game, these mobile versions will be all new additions and implementations of the franchise. Who knows, maybe we'll even get somewhat of a campaign as it was the most requested feature of the original.

Let us know what you think of Titanfall going mobile below and how you think they should do it.
