Ubisoft recognizes Tom Clancy's The Division is a "social" game at its core. To that end, the developer is doing everything possible to make it easy to play with friends. This includes the ability to invite your Steam friends into your Uplay Friends.
“Since the game is social at its core, we worked closely with the Uplay team to ensure that players will be able to play with their friends and also find new ones easily," Ubisoft said in a PC-centric blog post about The Division.
"Uplay now lets you invite your Steam friends into your Uplay Friends list and find people you recently played with. Your Uplay Friends list will also allow you to see when your friends are online and send them an invite or join their session seamlessly.”
Although Tom Clancy's The Division is available on PC through Steam, you will need a Uplay account to play the game. Like other Ubisoft games, it's likely that the Steam version will launch the Uplay client in order to access the game. With that in mind, the easier Ubisoft makes it for Steam and Uplay friends to match together, the better.
Earlier today, Ubisoft also revealed the minimum and recommended PC specs for The Division. Check them out here and get ready for the upcoming beta. The actual game is scheduled to launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on March 8, 2016.
