Tomb Raider comic will set the stage for events in the sequel

By now, we all know that Dark Horse comics are making a Tomb Raider comic series due out on February 26, 2014. Speaking with Kotaku, Gail Simone — who's written for Wonder Woman, Deadpool and Batgirl and will be writing for Tomb Raider — answered a few question about the new comic series.

The most important nugget to take away from the interview is when the game takes place in regards to the video game and the sequel. Simone said, "We start just a few weeks after the end of the game, and this is all in continuity, it will be Tomb Raider canon, and lead DIRECTLY into the sequel. This is what got me excited; we get to be part of Lara Croft history."

Simone also pointed out that Lara Croft goes everywhere and does everything, and they're going to show the journey of "how does a British schoolgirl become this adventure icon, this magnificent, dangerous woman."
