Supergiant Games' Transistor is now available for pre-order on PS4 and PC, the developer announced today.
The new sci-fi themed action RPG, from the developers that brought us Bastion, seamlessly integrates thoughtful strategic planning with fast-paced action and rich atmospheric storytelling. The sci-fi themed action RPG invites you to wield an extraordinary weapon of unknown origin as you fight through a futuristic city, piecing together the Transistor's mysteries as you pursue its former owners.
Plot aside, Supergiant Games creative director, Greg Kasavin, took to the PS Blog today to discuss a few more features specific to the PlayStation 4 version. In addition to using the DualShock 4's light bar in sync with the voiceover in the game, Transistor will also use the controller's built-in speaker for "a more personal feel."
The PS4 version will also run in full HD 1080p resolution, a first for Supergiant Games on console. The game will offer more than 30 Trophies, including a Platinum Trophy if you unlock all of the others. In terms of philosophy, Transistor's Trophy design is aimed at encouraging players to explore the world, discovering the breadth, depth, and content of the game.
"Some of our Trophies concern hidden aspects of the game that we’ve purposely said nothing about, so we encourage you to discover these for yourself as you play!" added Kasavin.
In two weeks, you will, as Transistor is due out for PS4 and PC on May 20.
