Treyarch gets testy with fans over Black Ops 2 field of view

The field of view in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be capped at 80 on PC, Treyarch stated. End of discussion. Treyarch's community manager took to Twitter a few days ago to finally put an end to the field of view discussion. Here's what they said:

“Don’t ask me to raise the FOV cap. Max is 80. Thankyouverymuch.”

When asked for a reason, the community manager replied, “Of course there is a reason. otherwise I would raise it to stop all the QQing,”

As it turns out the reason behind the capped view is some sort of "technical limitation" which Treyarch didn't further detail.

I suppose when you're getting hounded by impatient, rude gamers on a daily basis, your tolerance becomes a little less. I doubt this will stop people from asking, or even complaining, but at least we finally have an answer in stone.
