Following a successfuly multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on PlayStation 4, Treyarch thanked those who participated while taking little time between preparing Xbox One and PC players for their turn.
"With the end of the PS4 Beta, comes the promise of the start of the Beta for Xbox One and PC fans. Things will kick off later today for Xbox One/PC and we look forward to yet one more awesome week of gameplay," Treyarch wrote. "While the jig is up and you know what is coming by virtue of the PS4 Beta, rest assured that we’ll be in touch throughout your Beta period and making sure that you’re having the best experience possible."
Officially, the Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta for Xbox One and PC is scheduled to start on August 26, but there's a chance it could arrive early. With the PS4 version, Treyarch made the download available early, and there's a good chance they could do the same on Xbox and PC.
It's also possible Treyarch could eventually open the beta up to all Xbox LIVE players. Towards the end of the PS4 beta, Treyarch lifted the pre-order requirement, allowing all PlayStation 4 owners to participate. It's entirely possible that was a result of Activision wanting to show the PlayStation community some love following the publisher's new deal with Sony; but, Treyarch probably also wants to get as much feedback as possible with these other versions. For that reason, it's not unthinkable that Activision would also open the Xbox and PC beta up to all players on, say, the last scheduled day.
As for the content of the beta, Treyarch rolled it out slowly on PS4, with new updates arriving on a daily basis. While you can expect all of the same content to be offered on Xbox and PC during the beta, it's unclear if it will all be available from the get-go or if Treyarch will perform a slow rollout process.
The Xbox One and PC beta is scheduled to run through August 30th.
