Disney has announced that Propaganda Games, the Vancouver-based developer behind Tron: Evolution and the recent Turok reboot, has been shut down.
100 staff were laid off late last year, and the Pirates of the Caribbean RPG shown at E3 had been scrapped. Now, after mediocre sales and reviews for Tron, Disney has pulled the plug. “The studio has completed all work associated with its most recent project,” the publisher said in a statement.
Disney has been refocusing their efforts on casual and mobile games, so it was really only a matter of time for Propaganda. Besides, Tron was mediocre at best, so it’s not like we won’t be able to press on without them.
