Sad news everyone. Brian 'PoShYbRiD' Vigneault was on hour 22 of a 24-hour live stream he was doing for the Make-A-Wish Foundation when he stepped away for a small cigarette break at around 3:30 AM CST. He never returned. His viewers naturally thought that he fell asleep, and didn't think much of it. The next day, a friend saw Vigneault logged in on Discord and sent him a message, only it wasn't him. Sadly, it was a police officer from Virginia Beach who informed the friend that Brian 'PoShYbRiD' Vigneault, only 35 years of age and a father of three children, had passed away and was investigating his death.
As of right now, the cause of death is unknown, and according to the Nightbot that runs on Vigneault's channel, his family has elected not to release that information. There is a GoFundMe page that is now live dedicated to helping Vigneault's children.
Here's a screenshot of the Nightbot message:
'PoShYbRiD' was well known for being a regular marathon streamer and World of Tanks was often his game of choice. According to Kotaku, Vigneault would spend multiple days a week streaming upwards of 20 hours while PVP Live says that chain smoking and drinking on stream were a fairly regular occurrence. It goes without saying that marathon streaming can take its toll on your body, especially if you do it often.
'PoShYbRiD's' Twitch channel has been officially designated as a memorial channel by its moderators, and its chat has been very active with fellow viewers expressing their grief. RIP, Brian.
