Something something Hobbit… blah blah blah something something 'precious.' I don't feel like making any typical comments about the one ring or someone's precious or taters, so I won't. I'll just share with you these two new images from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, courtesy of E!. It shows the amazingly talented Andy Serkis as Gollum behind-the-scenes in his motion-capture gear, and then in final, animated form.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey follows a Hobbit from The Shire, Bilbo Baggins, who gets drawn into a quest of epic proportions by the powerful wizard Gandalf to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was conquered by the dragon Smaug. On his journey, he meets a character that'll change his life — Gollum — and comes into possession of the one ring.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey releases December 14, 2012, followed by The Hobbit: there and Back Again on December 13, 2013. There have been recent reports that a third movie may follow those in 2014.
