Ubisoft CEO says Nintendo NX will get “casual players back in the industry”

Nintendo fans and pretty much the entirety of the gaming community have been patiently waiting for Nintendo to reveal something about their upcoming home console codenamed, NX. All we know of the console is based off of patents, rumors and other industry professionals, but a majority of that information doesn't lead to much.

While mist still shrouds the upcoming console, Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot, mentioned the comment during Ubisoft's financial conference call. The comment from Guillemot could result in some wonder from the gaming community:

β€œOn the NX, what we have seen is really great, so we think having a new machine coming is going to help the industry to continue to grow and to take lots more casual players back in the industry.”

Plenty of Nintendo fans, and gamers alike, have been hoping for an answer to the PS4 and Xbox One from Nintendo. Something that could at least somewhat contend against the competing consoles or at least offer some of the multiplatform games that are released for them. Especially considering that the Wii U took the back seat with third-party developers, leaving the Wii U's game library a bit stagnant (unless all you wanted to play were Nintendo games AND NO ANIMAL CROSSING).

To say that the NX will bring "casual players" back can draw some concern – will Nintendo be dropping a straight up successor to the Wii U or will they be branching out and offering to more than just casual players?

At least he said what he has seen was "really great" at the beginning of the sentence, so at least we have hope.
