Ubisoft not making a Blood Dragon 2

"Hopefully we'll be able to surprise you with something just as much"

Set in 2007, Blood Dragon welcomed players to an 80's VHS vision of the future. Unfortunately, that's a future many gamers will not be revisiting, as Ubisoft basically shot down any notion of a sequel.

Speaking to IGN, Ubisoft Montreal creative director Alex Hutchinson explained that much of what made Blood Dragon distinctive its surprise. I don't think any Far Cry 3 players were expecting to be sent to 2007 to take on a cyborg army gone rogue. And then there was Michael Biehn providing the voice — Blood Dragon was just awesome.

"That's was what was cool about [Blood Dragon], it was surprising. It was a great use of the Far Cry 3 base, and had an awesome soundtrack. But no, you won't get another one of those," Hutchinson said. "But hopefully we'll be able to surprise you with something just as much."

Far Cry 4 launches on November 18 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. While the Season Pass has already been detailed, Ubisoft could have other surprises up their sleeve that they've yet to reveal.
