[Update: A post to the PlayStation Blog confirms Overwatch will launch May 24. Pre-ordering the game will grant early access to the game's upcoming open beta. The beta will be open to all players May 5 through May 9, but pre-orderers can get in May 3. Original story follows.]
Blizzard’s Overwatch will release on May 24, according to a now-removed advertisement.
Redditor Deadpoolthegreat captured images of the IGN-hosted advert before it was pulled, and swiftly uploaded them to Imgur. The desktop version of the ad (above) clearly lists a May 24 release date for the game’s PS4, Xbox One and PC versions.
The mobile version of the ad (right) shares the release date, and also lists early access to an open beta for the game as a pre-order bonus. The as-yet-unconfirmed open beta is said to begin May 3. Evidently, the pre-order offer is only valid through April 29.
Blizzard has yet to address the leaked information, but it’s worth noting that their placeholder launch date of spring 2016 fits the timeline.
