Users reporting errors in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 following patch 1.03

Looks like the A.B.C.... error is back to haunt again!

Patch 1.03 went live in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 today, bringing general crash bug fixes, the Double XP weekend and various other fixings that have yet to be detailed. While we patiently await the arrival of patch notes for Version 1.03, players have begun reporting errors following the download of the patch.

So far, it seems like the error is generally found on PC and PS4, but some users haven't specified what platform they are running the game on – which means that the Xbox One isn't safe from the error.

Players reporting the error say the the version number in the top right corner of the game changed to 37.0.0.0 from 33.0.0.0 and will not change, no matter how long they wait. Pressing 'X' or "Enter' to skip leaves players facing the A.B.C.-.-.-…. error code.

According to Treyarch's Director of Development, "This means you aren't successfully talking to the servers." He suggests to "Troubleshoot connectivity, firewall, etc."

When this error has appeared during the beta Treyarch suggested that it had to do with individual network settings, instead of a widespread problem. It turned out that the beta was simply experiencing matchmaking issues.
