Video Game Voters Network launches campaign against Fox News over violence in video games

Violence in video games is on ongoing debate among the media, with most traditional outlets *ahem* Fox News playing the typical role of villain. Like most views from the conservative news station, Fox tends to stick with the belief that video games are causing the alleged increase in youth violence, not the actual guns.

Fox and Friends host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, as a result of the Navy Yard shooting and misguided attack against video games, has even gone so far as to actually suggest tracking game purchases and "frequency testing" to determine how often and long you are playing certain games.

Fed up with the one-sided views, Video Game Voters Network is launching a campaign against such biased coverage and outlooks.

"It's the same song and dance over and over again. Fox News exploits a tragedy to pedal baseless rumors about a made-up link between video games and violence, while ignoring the many studies that disprove their false allegations," Video Game Voters Network writes. "We're sick of it, but it's not going to stop unless we do something about it."

So what can you do? The company has created a lovely graphic to let Fox News know they've lost a viewer — assuming you were ever a viewer to begin with. Either way, they've created this logo which you can share on Facebook. Let Fox News know you are tired of seeing video games blamed for real world violence. If that's not enough, you can even reach out to your federal and state legislators today and urge them to stand up for gamer rights.
