Warner Bros. switches DC Cinematic Universe executive team after Batman v. Superman reaction

After the mixed reviews towards the recently released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. has elected to re-assess their execution of the DC Cinematic Universe.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice drew massive crowds to see the epic spectacle of Batman and Superman in a titan's clash for the ages. Unfortunately, the film engendered some very mixed reviews and a great deal of negativity. With competition like Marvel Studios' successful line-up, DC has been forced to step up their game and keep true with the current movie climate. With the fans of the franchise so divided over the latest representation of the classic heroes, Warner Bros. has made the decision to take a que from Marvel and re-establish the focus of some of its executive producers towards some very specific alleys in the studios project docket as a form of quality control for the future.

Executive Vice President, Jon Berg, and comic book writer and DC television creative director, Geoff Johns, will now be overseeing a department of Warner Bros. film projects that centers specifically on the DC Cinematic Universe, similar to the concept behind Marvel Srudios. Geoff Johns has already found success in DC Comics television media by teaming with executive producer, Greg Berlanti, to bring to life such shows as Arrow, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl.

Johns and Berg will now be exclusively overseeing the production of upcoming projects following this fall's Suicide Squad such as Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Justice League, as well as the upcoming films taking place in the same line. Warner Bros. hopes the changes will ensure the continuity of the brand and maintain a solid track record with fans, despite the general disappointment of BvS.

Suicide Squad releases August 5th!

Justice League- Part I releases November 17, 2017!
