11-bit Studios has announced that their upcoming 2D Adventure Sim, Beat Cop will be launching in full at the end of the month on March 30th exclusively on PC. On top of that, the publisher released an all-new commercial for the game, which had less to do with the actual game, and focuses instead on cats. Specifically, a "feature" called Beat Cat which the developers are dubbing a "Free Expansion."
It's impossible to tell if there's actually going to be anything Cat-themed in the game, or if the commercial is purely a joke. I tend to lean towards the latter.
Beat Cop casts players in the role of former detective John Booker who has been framed for murder and demoted to the lowest ranks of the NYPD. Your task is to live his new day-to-day existence of menial tasks which include ticketing cars, catching purse snatchers, and investigating the occasional crime scene. The game also features incredible pixel art, '80's references, and multiple endings.
Beat Cop releases exclusively on PC on March 30th, 2017.
