[Watch] Check out 30 minutes of NieR: Automata gameplay featuring mounts and pod skills

Gameplay begins at 19:04

Final Fantasy XV isn't the only game Square Enix has cooking in the pipeline. Today the JRPG giant showcased 30 minutes of in-game footage of NieR: Automata, with an emphasis on the ability to ride mounts and use different pod abilities. We see 2B use some sort of shiny blocks to lure the local wildlife, before leaping onto their backs and (magically) gaining immediate control of them.

There is a small variety of fauna on display in the demo, namely a boar and a moose, but it is a nice touch none the less. You can also use your little robotic followers (pods) for a variety of different tasks, such as attacking enemies, scanning for items, or even fishing.

NieR: Automata will release in Japan on February 23rd, 2017, but no release date has been given for any other country.
