Larian Studios has never shied away from having a sense of humor. If you've ever seen any of the studio's many Kickstarter videos on Divinity: Original Sin 2, there's a delightfully casual nature about the way they do things. This also translates to in-game mechanics as well, such as players having the ability to turn foes (or NPCs) into chickens. The studio just released a new trailer showcasing the freedom of the game's co-op in a scenario that, while it may require a little imagination and ingenuity, is entirely possible to pull off.
Here's the video:
Don't be like Apostol.
As you can see, players have the ability and the freedom to break off from the party whenever they want, and committing certain devious actions can actually get your party members in trouble and some cases, thrown in jail. The journey of Divinity: Original Sin 2 is constructed almost entirely by the player, as the overarching narrative and game mechanics function more as an existing parameter set for guidance rather than a rigid structure telling you what to do and where to go at all times.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes out of Steam Early Access next month on September 14th, 2017.
