[Watch] Here’s 17 minutes of an all-new mission in Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is quietly one of the more popular first person action games there is. I suppose that description is a bit ironic considering the game is all about stealth and sniping, but Ghost Warrior 3 also ups the ante with a little in-your-face action should you choose to go that route. Today, CI Games has released a 17-minute gameplay demo featuring a never-before-seen map, The Slaughterhouse.

The mission is simple. An American prisoner is being held captive in the facility, which is an old slaughterhouse that has been repurposed for corpse disposal by the enemy. It is up to you, the player, Jonathan North to extract the prisoner by any means necessary. The demo also showcases the effects that weather can have on your mission.

So for instance, we see how Jon can detect shoeprints in the snow to navigate through a minefield. The snowstorm also provides added cover for you as you make your way around the exterior of the facility, and guards are less likely to notice a capped comrade. We also get a look at the all-new aerial drone which can be used to survey guard patterns and hack into enemy mainframes. The guard targeting is especially notable as it takes a core feature of one of this generation's greatest games, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and uses it in its own way.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 launches on PC, PlayStation®4, and Xbox One on its new release date of April 4th, 2017.
