Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of the PS4's most anticipated exclusives of 2017, and if the tutorial video (embedded above) is any indication, it looks like we are in for a treat. It should be noted that the video is not official, as it was uploaded by a YouTuber known as NGIN. That said, the video does show off a variety of Aloy's moves and mechanics and focuses on the hunting and crafting aspect of the game.
It's easy to see how the RPG systems shine through between the numerical damage counters (which I'm a sucker for) and on-the-fly quick crafting, and there's also some hints of Metal Gear Solid V at work. Aloy can tag enemies before engaging them, and it appears that stealth will be a critical aspect of hunting, which comes through when she stabs one of the beasts in the neck for an instant K.O.
What the video provides the most is a sense of what the moment to moment gameplay is like. So often we are swayed by the infamous vertical slices that get shown off at press events, that aren't a full representation of what the game is really like. So at the very least, we have a pretty solid idea as to what the basics are, and suffice it to say, the game looks fantastic.
