In the original Watch Dogs you play a vigilante who uses their ability to hack to better the world. As Aiden Pearce you listen in on phone calls, mess with city lights, hack cars, computers, lights and more. The Netflix Original, iBoy, is pretty similar – except all that hacking is brain powered instead of funneled through other technology.
The main character even uses his skills to become a vigilante. That's kind of where the similarities begin and end, but hey, it looks cool regardless!
The description of the show, as per Netflix:
Tom is an average teenager whose world is turned on its head when a violent encounter with local thugs leaves fragments of his shattered smartphone embedded in his brain. He wakes from a coma to discover that returning to normal teenage life is impossible because he has developed a strange set of superpowers. With these new powers he sets out to seek revenge on the gang, who also assaulted his best friend Lucy.
