[Watch] Pacific Rim 2 ‘Uprising’ gets its first trailer

After getting its official name during San Diego ComicCon, the Pacific Rim sequel has received its first trailer. The movie has seen multiple delays and will not be helmed by Guillermo del Toro who manned the first film, but it is still expected to be released in 2018.

In the trailer, above, we get to see the Kaiju return, John Boyega, Charlie Day and a bunch Jaegers (at this point, it's reminiscent of Transformers). You can find the official synopsis below:

It’s been ten years since The Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes. When the Kaiju threat returns, we will be ready.

The cast of Pacific Rim Uprising includes John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian, Cailee Spaeny, Rinko Kikuchi, Burn Gorman, Adria Arjona, and Charlie Day.
