[Watch] Sci-Fi monster movie Colossal gets its first trailer

Colossal, an upcoming science-fiction monster movie, has received its first trailer and it's actually an original idea. Instead of typical monster movie where the monster destroys and the military defends, Colossal has Anne Hathaway as a hot mess that controls a giant monster – whose face happens to look like grumpy cat and a gremlin combined.

Here's the official synopsis:

Gloria (Anne Hathaway) drinks too hard and parties too much. Her boyfriend has enough of it and throws her out. Gloria returns to her hometown, dreaming of making a new start, but instead revives her childhood friendship with Oscar (Jason Sudeikis), who runs a bar. After drinking a night away with Oscar and his friends, he wakes up to discover a gigantic monster rampaging through Seoul and realizes that somehow the monster is connected to her.

The film stars Anne Hathaway as Gloria (and a kaiju) and Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses, We're the Millers) and is set to release on April 7, 2017.The film is directed by Timecrimes and Open Windows helmer Nacho Vigalondo,
