The potty mouth goblin known as Styx will be making his inglorious return later this month in Styx: Shards of Darkness, the follow-up to 2014's Master of Shadows. One of the sequel's newest and most exciting features is the inclusion of a drop-in, drop-out co-op mode that lets two players concoct any number of different strategies to quietly carve out a path for themselves amongst enemies.
While the co-op certainly presents its share of emergent gameplay opportunities, it should be noted that the game does scale up the difficulty, allowing more chances for you and your partner to raise the alarm. After all, it wouldn't be much fun if you just coasted through it all, would it? Every level and mission in the game are playable in co-op, so the game is doubling its play time with the added co-op feature.
Styx: Shards of Darkness will release in full later this month on March 14th, 2017.
