Get ready for a splurge of E3 trailers for just about every game you can imagine. We're just a few days away from the big event and, as expected, developers and publishers are starting to give us a taste for the games that will be on-hand. Today, we have Monolith Productions' Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, an upcoming third-person action game set in J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy universe.
It's a cinematic trailer, meaning you won't see any gameplay. Instead, we get a look into the world of Talion, the Ranger of The Black Gate whose family was murdered in front of him the night Sauron made his return to Mordor. With the help of a mysterious Wraith — a Spirit of vengeance that holds a very ancient grudge against Sauron — Talion fights on, also looking to exact revenge on those who killed his family.
"In the trailer lies the aftermath of a battle; Uruks slain, and a message left. A Captain of Sauron’s army soon finds out that the mayhem around him was caused by Talion, the Gravewalker, as the lone surviving Uruk tells of what he saw — and who’s next," explains Monolith Productions' Andy Salisbury.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will be released for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on October 7, 2014.
