Watch the opening sequence of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare right here

No exo-suit movements to be seen here!

Call of Duty is known for its incredible set pieces in its campaign and it looks like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be kicking off with one of these amazing set pieces right at the very start.

Today at San Diego Comic-Con, Call of Duty hosted a huge panel that detailed the game's plot and characters as well as a few teases for the multiplayer which will get its full debut in September. During the panel, we got a fantastic demo of the opening sequence of the game which shows Earth being attacked by a group of people that went off into space to research other planets.

Many fans were concerned by the sci-fi type setting that will take players to places beyond Earth due to the fact the last few Call of Duty's have been so drastically different from a gameplay perspective. 2014's Advanced Warfare introduced us to a new movement system that allowed players to jump super high around the map  and do other crazy things thanks to the exo-suits. Last year's Black Ops 3 took it even futher adding on to the new movement by adding wall-running and other special abilities. Fans have said that they want at least one game in the three studio dev cycle that stays true to the core of Call of Duty.

Although this new game does embrace the future and goes all out with it, it looks like the game will stay true to the series. Throughout the 10+ minute demo, not once do we see the player jump to the damn moon with some rocket boots or jet pack. It remains true to Call of Duty, with some new innovations. We also get to see some new gadgets such as a spider-like drone that seeks out targets and crawls on them and explodes, a gun that changes into a sniper and assault rifle, a hacking module, and The Jackal, your own personal jet!

One great thing to see is the transition between ground and air/space combat. There is no visible loading screens when you get in your ship and take off to the stars, that's not to say there aren't any. It did seem like it took some time to get to space and while that's not unrealistic, it's possible they were disguising a loading screen in the gameplay. However, that's not a bad thing. The anticipation builds up as the sky gets darker, you hear the ship rattling as it rockets towards the final frontier, and you can see all the ships stats changing as you move closer to the space battle. While it may not be what some Call of Duty fans want, it certainly appears to be a cool game that may surprise many!

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases November 4th, 2016 and all collector's editions will come bundled with a copy of a fully remastered Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
