At the tail end of 2016, the legendary Carrie Fisher was taken from us when she suffered from some health issues. It was a tragedy as she had just reemerged as a big star in 2015 when she reprised her iconic role as Princess Leia in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Just a couple weeks before her death, her likeness was used in the Star Wars prequel, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Not only was it untimely, but it affected millions of people who grew up with her and all the females who were inspired by her and Princess Leia.
Today the official Star Wars Celebration event kicked off in Orlando, Florida and it all started with a tribute video for Fisher. The video showcases her excellent humor, her beautiful looks, and how incredibly inspiring she was. The video is a bit of a tear jerker but it's well worth the watch.
Fisher will appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi which releases this December. She's also expected to appear in Star Wars: Episode IX via some unused footage from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. A trailer for The Last Jedi is expected to release tomorrow where we will likely see a glimpse of Leia.
