The Early Access Survival genre has no shortage of games, so these days it takes a special something to stand out from the pack. We Happy Few does just that with its George Orwell meets A Clockwork Orange crazy take on 1960's dystopian and retrofuturistic England. Today, developer Compulsion Games released a brand new update video detailing the game's second major content update, the Maidenholm Update.
The headliner of the Maidenholm Update is a brand new island for players to explore, packed with all-new encounters and quests. Players will also now be able to select from one of three distinct playstyles, a feature that has been long requested by the We Happy Few community. The first playstyle, Birdwatcher, is story focused and allows you to play the game at your own pace by exploring the environment without the need to eat or drink. The second playstyle, Vigilante, is a hardcore mode that increases the difficulty of combat and survival. The third playstyle, Downer, is a balance of the two and is representative of what the game has been to this point. So if you're happy with the game as is, you'll want to play on Downer.
We Happy Few's Maidenholm update is live now for PC players on both Steam and GOG.com and is coming to Xbox One sometime in the near future.
