WB would’ve shown new Batman, Harry Potter, & Rocksteady’s game at E3

RIP E3 2020.

Warner Brothers don’t release a ton of games but when they do, they’re always big hitters. With IP like Mortal Kombat, Batman, Harry Potter, and more under their belt, they never cease to impress. According to new reports, it sounds like the next year for the company should be their biggest slate to date.

Kotaku’s Jason Schreier has reported that with E3’s official cancelation, plans for a WB E3 press conference have been scrapped. The publishing giant would’ve joined the likes of Ubisoft and EA’s regular conferences for the first time with the long-teased Batman game from WB Montreal, a new Harry Potter game, and Rocksteady’s first new game in 5 years.

Each of these games have been cooking for quite some time. The Batman game is heavily rumored to center around the New 52’s Court of Owls, an evil Illuminati-like group based in Gotham City. The Harry Potter game had a leaked internal trailer years ago and is bound to be ready for next-gen. As for Rocksteady’s game? Well, it’s anyone’s guess.

Given the fact stock holders heavily rely on E3 week, it’s safe to assume these announcements will still be made in the coming months. Microsoft will be doing some sort of digital event, possibly in the vein of a Nintendo Direct/State of Play, it’s entirely possible WB will slot one or all of their announcements in there.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as the story develops.
