Warning: Spoilers.
A lot went down in the Netflix Original Series, Stranger Things. There were plenty of dramatic moments, one particularly creepy monster, and some deaths. Of course, deaths can't be avoided when you invite a monster to town.
While plenty of people died, there are two particular characters whose "deaths" were washed over. Once the two were out of the picture, they were not mentioned again. The two characters are none other than Nancy's friend Barbara 'Barb' and Matthew Modine's character Eleven's Papa, also known as Dr. Brenner or that evil older guy.
Speaking with GameSpot, producer Matt Duffer commented on the general passiveness of Barb's death (only one person cared and she only somewhat cared) and how we never got to see Brenner die.
First off, don't expect Barb to show up in Season 2.
"I can't see it happening,"said Duffer. "But Barb will not be forgotten. We'll make sure there’s some justice for Barb. People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn't seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening. We're just not spending any screen time on it."
As for Brenner, there's a rule in movies… If you don't see the body, they aren't dead and this seems pretty on point for Brenner's fate.
"I would say that if we were going to kill Brenner… as an audience member watching the show, if that was his death, that would be very unsatisfying to me–when the monster jumps on him and we cut away," he explained. "[Brenner] would deserve much more than that as an ending. So yes, there's a possibility of seeing him again."
So… yeah, we might be seeing Modine make a return!
