Apparently, there’s a number of PlayStation 4’s out in the wild that are unexpectedly ejecting discs or beeping repeatedly as if the eject button has been pressed, even when no disc is inside. I don’t know how widespread this problem is, but apparently it’s serious enough to warrant a “how to” video for Sony.
Should you be the owner of one of these possessed systems, Sony recommends following these instructions.
-
Press and hold the power button until you hear two beeps
-
Wait about 30 seconds for all system lights to shut off
-
Unplug the AC power cable and wait for three full minutes
-
Plug the system in, power it on, and see if it operates normally
If the problems continue, then Sony says your PS4 system should be serviced.
