The onslaught of Destiny: The Taken King news continues this week, as Game Informer recently posted an interview with Bungie focused on the developer's new approach to storytelling in The Taken King. Of course, the subject of Peter Dinklage came up, and how Nolan North will not only be replacing him as the voice of Ghost in the expansion, but even re-recorded all of the original lines.
For those looking for some sort of drama, you're going to be disappointed, as Bungie executive producer Mark Noseworthy chalked it up to nothing more than "contractual Hollywood nonsense."
"Dinklage was awesome to work with but we needed to work with someone who is more available," Noseworthy told Game Informer. "Nolan is a pro, this is his thing.
"You can just call him up and say 'hey, next week we're doing this internal play test and it would be great to get some Ghost dialogue in there'. And he's available," he explained.
Ghost will apparently play a more crucial role in Destiny's story, serving as a way for players learn more about the universe of Destiny. Ghost can be used to highlight portions of the environment and learn more about their location in an unobtrusive way that's far less annoying than having to rely on Grimoire Cards.
